  • National Learning Community for Community Care Hubs – Interested Applicants

    This webinar is for Community Care Hub (CCH) leaders interested in participating in the 2025 National Learning Community (NLC). Participants in the webinar will have an opportunity to learn about the NLC and topics that will be covered as well as to have questions answered about the application process. We expect the content for this call to last no more than 30 minutes. However, presenters will remain on the call until all questions are addressed.

  • Economic Justice for Aging Communities

    This session will focus on economic justice challenges and solutions for older adults. They include ways to measure economic security, as well as the impact of income, housing, transportation, health care, long-term services and supports and food on the economic security of older adults. The webinar will include suggestions for engaging in client-level advocacy as well as broader advocacy to promote economic justice for older adults.   • Embracing the Shift: The Impact of Health Care Contracting on Community-Based Organizations

    In this webinar hosted by USAging's Aging and Disability Business Institute, speakers will share the findings of a new report about contracting experiences and the ways that contracting affects organizational operations, staffing and culture. The report is based on interviews with 13 individuals representing 10 Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs), who also shared lessons learned and advice for contracting. Webinar participants will also hear from Lisa Sheppard, CEO of Missoula Aging Services in Montana, on her AAA’s perspectives on the impact of health care contracting.

  • Unlocking Opportunities: A Case Study Spotlighting a Successful CIL-AAA Partnership – An Innovative Model for Health Care Contracting

    Join USAging's Aging and Disability Business Institute for an insightful webinar where speakers will dive into a compelling peer-led case study showcasing the unique, powerful partnership between a Center for Independent Living (CIL) and an Area Agency on Aging (AAA) operating collaboratively as an Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC). This case study, developed by Disability Revolution, Inc. for the Aging and Disability Business Institute in partnership with ILRU, and funded by The John A. Hartford Foundation, will highlight the strengths, challenges and replicable aspects of this innovative partnership. The webinar will feature a panel discussion with leaders from case study participating organizations, sharing their real-world experiences, key takeaways and promising practices for other CILs and AAAs looking to build/replicate similar connections and collaborations between entities. The CIL-AAA partnership featured in this case study reflects how the two entities operate successfully, demonstrating meaningful collaboration between disability and aging services are possible. Service delivery and resource accessibility are enhanced by bridging services gaps ultimately improving access for older adults and people with disabilities. As a result of this CIL-AAA innovative partnership, the organizations have unlocked funding opportunities from within the health care sector to facilitate the provision of crucial services such as transition and diversion for aging and disabled individuals.

    Join USAging next spring in Washington, DC, for the 31st annual Aging Policy Briefing & Capitol Hill Day!   2025 will be a busy year for Aging Network advocates with a new Congress and a new White House. New challenges and opportunities will arise, and it’s more important than ever for the Aging Network to successfully advocate on the top policy issues affecting the health and well-being of older adults, caregivers and people with disabilities.   This year’s APB will cover a plethora of topics, including efforts to reauthorize the Older Americans Act; FY 2026 appropriations for key aging programs; and federal updates on aging, caregiving and health policy. Attendees will learn more about the priorities of the new administration; get read into USAging’s Policy Priorities; and gain insider knowledge of the 2025 policy landscape from key federal agency officials, congressional staff and Aging and health policy experts. The APB will provide attendees with the messaging, tools and tactics to best advocate on behalf of older adults and caregivers at the local, state and national levels.     USAging is celebrating 50 years! The first Answers on Aging Conference was a gathering of a few hundred Aging Network professionals held in 1975 at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC.  As we head to Chicago in 2025, the USAging Answers on Aging Annual Conference and Tradeshow has become the country’s largest gathering of local leaders in aging well at home, attracting more than 1,400 Area Agencies on Aging; tribal aging programs and other federal, state and local leaders in aging; home and community-based services; and caregiving from across the nation.  The USAging Conference has a rich history of providing tremendous opportunities to spur innovation; learn about best and promising practices; network and learn from colleagues; and gain insight into federal policy and national trends that affect older adults, people with disabilities and their caregivers. This is a must-attend conference for anyone working in the Aging Network or wanting to learn more about the services and supports that help older adults thrive in their communities. This year we will offer even more opportunities to share new ideas and proven successes that will continue to move the Aging Network forward! The more than 100 sessions held during the four-day Conference offer a variety of ways to learn about and discuss new and emerging strategies and innovative approaches in service delivery, hot topics, current issues in aging, replicable programs, new opportunities for procuring sustainable funding streams and more.  Attendees will return home full of new insights, program ideas and connections to other Aging Network colleagues who understand the challenges and opportunities ahead.
